Rendered Speechless

This is really a posting more for "baby book memory" purposes than anything else. I've broken up each group of thoughts with a cute picture so you won't get too bored from reading. After a run of very focused intent on saying certain words, Davis is now ONLY babbling, from which words are not distinguishable, yet, he clearly has an understanding of more objects and commands, than ever. He is well aware of most of his toys and surroundings now. For instance, he knows how to "go and get" his bulldozer, excavator, dump truck, ball, tractor, school bus, books (even certain ones if asked to), and of course, his lovie and binkie, which he'll gladly do.



He also knows to sign to us if he's thirsty or hungry or wants "more", which is unusual given then fact that we've been teaching him all along, but just recently, he's decided to use it regularly. He also is very cute when he wants something to drink--he goes and sits down in the front of the refrigerator (evidently at daycare, they cannot have snack/drink until they sit down) and chants "miii miii miii" (that's evidently short for "milk). Davis is "trained" well, especially when it comes to food/drink.



Among his trucks, puzzles, and lawn mower, he loves coloring, particularly with his bathtub crayons (which are WAY better than bathtub markers--for all the parents entertaining which to choose).



His newest thing these days is climbing and trying to "run". My mom has found he can get into her chairs in the kitchen by himself. He scales the back of our bistro chairs (which are taller than average), and the steps outside. He's only another few weeks before being able to get onto the couch by himself. He is quite resourceful, though, as he'll move his push toy up to the couch or chair and use it to get onto them.


If there were ever "actions" like Chris on this kid, it's the scene above--"crossing of his feet". The running joke is how Chris crosses his feet if he's laying down or taking a nap and on his stomach...he crosses his feet...and Davis...he does THE SAME THING while he plays on the floor--it's such a little tidbit of useless information, but something so special to me.
