One + One = ?

Davis celebrated his 2nd birthday with all of his friends from the neighborhood and some of our friends and family. We counted...there are 6 children (not including Davis) that live within a few houses of us that are all within 6 months of Davis's age. It's like a daycare in our cul-de-sac on the weekends as the kids all gather with their tricycles, push-toys, and wagons. Our cul-de-sac is THE meeting place, and you're SOOOOO NOT COOL if you don't hang out here. Davis's friends stopped by early in the day, and they played outside all morning, then after lunch and naps, we had a party at a Jumpin Parties. For those of you who aren't sure what this is, it's a big place that you can reserve and have parties that has great big bouncy tents/arenas inside. The kids can jump all around, go down slides, climb, and play. It's GREAT fun...so much so...that Mommy used the kids as an excuse to be able to get in herself and go down the slides. Teeeheeee.

Davis got a bubble machine from us for his birthday, which he loves---he ran it until the batteries died. So far the battery fairy has only visited once to bring replacement batteries. He's already run the second set down, too. Oh darn. Not sure when that battery fairy is coming back....ssssshhhh.

He is getting to be such a grown "little" person. He knows his colors, knows how to count to three, and has a vocabulary a mile long. Best of all, we can get him to say "please" and "thank you". He's even good at doing chores for us, which really rocks. Not sure how long that'll last. He really is a great kid. He continues to be bigger than most kids his age...he's at the 99th percentile for his height (37 inches) and at the 60th percentile for his weight (30 pounds). He's going to be tall at this rate...maybe about 6'2" or so, based on the curve.

Ryan is doing well, too. He's finally eating a few solid foods. He is quite the happy baby...maybe even a little better as far as a sleeper, than Davis. He goes to bed about 7:30pm, and doesn't wake up to feed until 6am or 7am, which is WONDERFUL. Ryan is quite the tank. He is well above the 95th percentile for both height and weight....which is exactly how Davis started out, too. We expect that eventually Ryan will start to thin out like Davis did once he starts crawling/moving around some on his own. For now, he's the BEST cuddly little butterball that you could ever hope for. He LOVES to snuggle.

Enjoy the slide show. There are lots of kiddos...and of course...Ryan was at the party, too, and you'll know which one he is right away when you see him.
