10 weeks update

Davis will be 10 weeks old on Friday, May 30, and mommy's getting ready to return to work next week. Davis had his 2 month shots this week and weighed in at 14 pounds 7.5 ounces. He's really growing! In the last few weeks, Davis really has changed quite a bit. He's much more alert, and he's starting to really gain some head/neck control, actually enjoys tummy time and being held so that he can "practice" his head control, and now, really loves to see faces, and smiles when he does. He can "accidentally" roll over when he's placed on his stomach if he's not too tired and can push himself up on his arms. The rolling over part just sort of happens as his head wobbles back and forth, finally forcing his shoulders and upper body to go in the same direction. The lower body follows, and tah-dah...he's on his back. He was startled by it the first time he did it and started crying :-)

With all the new things he's doing now in the last few weeks, I'm a little sad about returning to work, however, I will say, being a stay-at-home mom is NO EASY job, and I'm going to welcome someone else stepping in now to help. We have a sitter that will be coming to our home for the next 5 weeks and staying with Davis as his daycare doesn't open until July 7th. Her name is Ashley, and she's really a sweet girl. You may see her in some pictures eventually, so we'll point her out. She's an ECU student and Child Development major with a concentration in birth to preschool. When July 7 rolls around, he'll start daycare here in Greenville.

Here's another picture of Davis and mommy. Those are scarce. They should make a mommy cam...something that follows mommy and baby around and snaps pictures. After all, with all this time home on maternity leave, we've really had some fun (and not so fun) moments together, many of which were "photo-worthy."
